Fighter Kites is a film about a young girl, Ahki, whose favorite pastime is kite fighting with her brother. The colorful kites that once freely owned the sky are now replaced by shadows of a flying beast. She must find a way to divert this being and reclaim the sky to protect her beloved village from the shadows that fly overhead. The mystical creature, however, is more than just an illusion and more than just a beast. This story is inspired by the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971.
